For this week’s Healthy Habit, I considered at least three other “habits” to share—all changing with the evolving circumstances of COVID-19. Last week involved me trying to make my fundraising goals despite growing fears of the virus. I tried to balance the reality of the situation with my need to press on.
Now, things are shutting down completely. This includes my son’s school, which has announced distance-learning through the end of the academic year.
Everyone is now being challenged physically, mentally, and financially.
Now more than ever, we must rely on our source of strength and hold tight to our faith.
For me, I find comfort in two Bible verses and one saying:
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not on thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy path.”
“This too shall pass.”
Those are my mantras. My go-tos. They challenge me to trust God when I am being challenged. They help me remain strong. I recite these words; I chant them. I believe in their message.
That is what works for me.
While I do not intend to impose my faith on you, I do want to impress upon you the need to find YOUR source of strength. Concentrate on this source, even if your source of strength is simply the KNOWING that this will pass.
This WILL pass. Although, I do not say that to sound cavalier about the severity of the situation. But instead to emphasize that there IS light at the end of the tunnel.
Hold tight to your source of strength. Dig deep and keep the faith.
WE ARE IN THIS TOGETHER.
[Every Monday, a new ‘habit’ will be posted as part of my Bright Light Living Healthy Habits series. These ‘Healthy Habits’ encompass habits for the mind, body, spirit, and one’s perspective of life—in order to LIVE BRIGHT. You may wish to implement the habits each week (if so, I encourage you to download the Healthy Habits Assessment form). Or, the week’s habit can simply serve as a journal prompt or something to ponder. It’s up to you. I do hope you will check in each week.]
