This week’s “Healthy Habit” is simple and should be pretty easy, but yet it is one that is not always practiced (at least not by my kids). With this quarantine, NOT practicing this habit becomes very evident.
To give some examples:
Putting your dishes in the dishwasher rather than the sink. This simple habit makes keeping a clean kitchen so much easier.
Throwing your trash away after eating something. Seriously, if I see one more juice box, snack wrapper, or dirty paper towel just sitting around the house, I will scream.
Putting dirty clothes in the laundry basket rather than the floor, especially towels (another common occurrence in my house). I literally can find clothes on my sons’ bathroom floor sitting right in front of the laundry basket (but not in it).
The point to this week’s habit is that keeping things clean and uncluttered is a simple way of keeping your mind clutter free and CALM.
[Every Monday, a new ‘habit’ will be posted as part of my Bright Light Living Healthy Habits series. These ‘Healthy Habits’ encompass habits for the mind, body, spirit, and one’s perspective of life—in order to LIVE BRIGHT. You may wish to implement the habits each week (if so, I encourage you to download the Healthy Habits Assessment form). Or, the week’s habit can simply serve as a journal prompt or something to ponder. It’s up to you. I do hope you will check in each week.]
