Avoid Bread and Processed Sugar

This week’s healthy habit is not fun at all — it definitely will be tough for me — and that is to avoid bread and processed sugar. Right now, I am on week three of a diet that doesn’t allow these indulgences (and some of my vices) and I can say it does reduce bloating. I also will recommend drinking lots of water to help with these sugar cravings. The diet that I am on says to drink half of your body weight in water (eeks), which I can attest, has helped me not feel hungry.

Spend this week concentrating on a healthy diet of greens, beans and lentils, and protein. Instead of bread, you can cook with almond flour or prepare sandwiches wedged between leaves of lettuce. Blueberries are especially healthy and filled with antioxidants.

Good luck! Here’s to getting back to being physically healthy.

[Every Monday, a new ‘habit’ will be posted as part of my Bright Light Living Healthy Habits series. These ‘Healthy Habits’ encompass habits for the mind, body, spirit, and one’s perspective of life—in order to LIVE BRIGHT.  You may wish to implement the habits each week (if so, I encourage you to download the Healthy Habits Assessment form). Or, the week’s habit can simply serve as a journal prompt or something to ponder.  It’s up to you. I do hope you will check in each week.]
