Take Your Vitamins

My body likes to remind me incessantly that it is getting older.  And, it’s not just me feeling this way. If you are in your 50s (or, on your way there), you may have noticed that when speaking with your friends, the topic of conversation is now body ailments and aches.  So sad. Ha, ha.  But then, not so sad because . . .

For me, it has caused me to search and research what is best for my body. I’ve had to take a hard look at how kindly (or, not so kindly), I’ve been to my body — another reason for these Healthy Habits for Bright Light Living — and more than ever, it is important to be cognizant of what you (me) put in our (my) bodies.

What I have learned is that taking vitamins and supplements is essential. I am not an expert of what to take and it is important to speak with your doctor when formulating your daily intakes of vitamins and supplements. But, they do have a myriad of benefits: pain relief, boosting your energy, moods, and metabolism, helping with inflammation of your joints and organs . . . just to name a few.

I am a big proponent of Magnesium, although I recently learned that there are various TYPES of magnesium and, for me, Magnesium Malate is what’s needed.  Vitamin D and Saffron are also on my intake list.

Again, I am not an doctor (nor, do I play one on TV), but the focus of this week’s habit is about taking vitamins and putting only (for the most part) healthy things in our body.

[EVERY MONDAY, A NEW ‘HABIT’ WILL BE POSTED AS PART OF MY BRIGHT LIGHT LIVING HEALTHY HABITS SERIES. THESE ‘HEALTHY HABITS’ ENCOMPASS HABITS FOR THE MIND, BODY, SPIRIT, AND ONE’S PERSPECTIVE OF LIFE—IN ORDER TO LIVE BRIGHT.  YOU MAY WISH TO IMPLEMENT THE HABITS EACH WEEK (IF SO, I ENCOURAGE YOU TO DOWNLOAD THE HEALTHY HABITS ASSESSMENT FORM). OR, THE WEEK’S HABIT CAN SIMPLY SERVE AS A JOURNAL PROMPT OR SOMETHING TO PONDER.  IT’S UP TO YOU. I DO HOPE YOU WILL CHECK IN EACH WEEK.]
