Tips for Living Bright 5/28: SURROUND YOURSELF WITH THOSE WHO HAVE YOUR BACK
One positive thing that I have gained from this pandemic is the ability to let go of things–worries about what others think of me and FOMO (Fear of Missing Out). I’ve also realized the value of surrounding yourself with a positive network of support.
When the people around you FEEL LIKE WORK then maybe it is time to cut ties. You know the ones I mean? The ones who are draining your batteries.
Friendship should be easy and uplifting. Your friends should make you feel good about yourself, not less than. And vice-versa. You need to be their cheerleader as well. Life is too short to hold others back or to have others hold you back.
Use this week’s Bright Light Living Healthy Habit to assess with whom and how you are spending your time. Are you allowing others to bring you down? Do the people around you inspire, uplift, and give you the freedom and acceptance to be you – – or, are they depleting your energy?
Because that is what life is about: BEING TRUE TO YOU. The ones who celebrate this — you being your true authentic self — are the ones with whom you need to surround yourself.
